Madie ~ Class of 2022

I loved this every single minute of this session!

There is something so incredibly special about senior sessions and this one ticked every single box:

the light…

the location…

but mostly THIS GIRL!

Madie told me that she was nervous, but all I saw was confidence, poise, and a beautiful young woman who is ready to make her mark on this world! Madie was a joy to work with and she reminded me why this time of life is so important. There is so much to look forward to in your senior year that it’s easy to jump ahead and not take time to be present. And that resonated with me. My time with Madie reminded me to slow down and take in the moment just as it is. There is so much joy and beauty around us if we take the time to see it.

Swallowed up in Light :: A Northwoods Engagement Story

There is a magical moment that happens every day. Just before the sun sets, it swallows the whole world up in light. In these precious, golden moments, ordinary turns into extraordinary.

No words can describe how much I LOVE this couple! Dani and Austin remind me that love is in the every-day moments. These two share love and laughter so easily, it’s contagious! All I wanted to do was laugh along with them…so I did! Every time I asked them to do something, they fell into it so naturally that all I had to do was run around and snatch every possible image I could. They created their own moments. It was so special to be a part of.

Taking these two to “my meadow” was super exciting. I’ve been hiking this little piece of Wisconsin Northwoods paradise forever, and it seemed so right, as the perfect day turned into the perfect night, that this was the place to be. And we were not disappointed!  It was like this place knew it was a special night and turned on all of it’s charm. The light was perfect, the bugs weren’t horrible, the water was calm..I couldn’t have asked for more!

Now all I have to do is wait for September to roll around. This wedding is going to be one for the books!

First, you are a gifted photographer. These two are very special, and I believe that you captured part of that in these photos. Second, Dani is my niece, so I am biased. Third, I appreciate that you shared this on Facebook. I have missed most of the moments in her life since one week before she turned 7. I am missing this time in her life and will miss the wedding as well. Seeing these pictures brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much.!!ReplyCancel

Motherhood: A Maternity Story

Oh, Motherhood.

The beauty. The chaos. The tears. The joy. The sleepless nights. The endless coffee. The laughter.

Every emotion, every fear, laid bare.

Every moment woven together to create a tapestry of love, hope, endurance, and strength.

It was such a joy to capture these images for Crystal and her family. It was sweet to see Cash love his Momma so tenderly! That boy can really melt a girl’s heart! Harlee was a little more interested in the dandelions, the grass, the gravel of the driveway…anything but taking pictures. Such is life with a toddler. But when she wanted to take a turn, she really turned on the charm.

And the light!

It was one of the few perfect nights that we have had this month. Warm and golden. The kind of light you want to wrap up in. The perfect compliment to the glow of this beautiful Momma!

This lady amazes me! She has such a strength about her. Even after a full day at a busy restaurant, toddler chasing, and getting everyone else ready, she still finds a quiet moment to ask me how I’m doing. It’s friends like this, that are willing to enter and just live a moment of life with you, that are the real treasure.

So here is to you, dear friend. Here is to the legacy of love that you are creating for your precious family.

Motherhood looks fantastic on you!

Harlee Grace

~ You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way ~

Song of Songs 4:7

Harlee Grace was so serious when we first started out.  But once we became acquainted, the smiles and the giggles couldn’t be stopped!

I love this age! I love that kiddos see the world as a big and wondrous place; full of adventure and fun. I love to watch them explore. They see the tiniest elements and relish in the simple beauty of all things. I love that they give whole heartedly and ever so generously. I love that once Harlee and I were friends, she wanted to engage in everything around us and for me to engage with her!

May you always keep your adventurous sprit, sweet girl!

Even though this was technically Harlee’s shoot, we had to let big brother, Cash, join the fun! Who can say no to an enthusiastic model, especially when he’s wearing his best cowboy hat and tells you he’s been practicing his smiles?!

~ Grace upon Grace :: The Ziegler Family ~

The Ziegler family is near and dear to my heart.

They have a story that reflects so much love and hope.

So many pieces of this family’s journey mirror The Greatest Love Story.

With lines of love, grace, redemption running all the way through.

There is no pretension. It is all for the Greatest Glory.

~

As I spent the day with this family, there was a quiet ease to every interaction.

A quick tuck of hair behind an ear. A straightening of a shirt.

A joke told to get a good smile. Giggles as a kiss was shared.

It was beautiful to watch.

~

It reminded me that we are made for relationship, partnership, community.

“We are better together than apart.”

What a perfect way to describe a marriage that brought this family to completion.

With every brave, courageous and encouraging heart in this family, there is love.

May you all receive, from His fullness, grace upon grace.
